Trail Advocates Unite

Our January meeting was a long session with lots of goals and exciting news about upcoming projects all along the Wild Rivers Coast. WRCMBA is excited to work and coordinate with both local and national groups and non-profits in helping to preserve our access into our public lands via trails. Even though we are a mountain biking group, many of our members have multiple hobbies that include surfing, rafting, hunting, and off-road motorcycling. One such group that our members help support is the Curry Citizens for Public Land Access. They are a great, motivated group with equipment and man-power that is helping our community “protect all forms of motorized and non-motorized access for recreation and other uses on public lands for present and future generations.” We will be posting their trail work days and meetings on our WRCMBA calendar. Be sure to go out and support CCPLA and help us form a lasting and strong partnership to benefit all. We all have one of the same goals: to protect and maintain sustainable trail access in and to our public lands. You can find more about their organization on their Facebook and Website.

CCPLA’s monthly meetings are held 2nd Thursday of every month at 6:30 pm at Panthers Den Pizza in Gold Beach, OR.

On a side note, we are looking for a few more board members to fill a couple slots this year. If you are passionate and interested in helping our super awesome cause, be sure to contact us at [email protected] and attend our next meeting in February. You don’t need to be an expert mountain biker to join, we all love to have fun, while riding trail and perhaps sharing a few beers and stories afterwards.

New Year New Meeting

Join WRCMBA and our board for our first-of-the-year club meeting. We are changing our meeting days to Thursday evenings at 6:30pm to accommodate more members. These meetings are open to all paying members.

We will be discussing the Lobster Creek Work days, grant updates, and setting the date for our January Group Ride day.

We will be down in Brookings at Deanie and Brian’s Workshop. Call or message a board member if you are planning on attending and need directions.  Bring your own beverage (BYOB).  Brian and Deanie will have pizza on hand!

January Meeting: Brookings, OR, Thursday, January 5th, 6:30pm.

Season Closer at Agness (photos)

Wild Riders had a great season closer up at Agness this December. The sun cleared for the trail ride and the skies gave way to gorgeous riding conditions. Steve and Michele at The Old Agness Store served up some heady burgers (seriously, so good!!) and beer. Some of us even finished our Christmas gift shopping at their adorable store, stuffing our gift bags with local handmade goods! Illinois River Trail rode great despite the nearly 2″ of rain the previous day. The Wild Rivers Coast sure is a perfect place to ride, all year round! See you in 2017!!
